THIS IS HALF THE LIFE

My name is Derel. I have two brothers Ismael and Tyriq. We live on 141st street. My Mothers name is Kelly Williams. We got a new teacher his name is Mr.Hakwoker. Mr. Hakwoker is the worst teacher ever. He gives you homework and doesn't even teach us anything.

On Monday I went to school with my brother's and my cousin's Jared and Kevyn. We met Rya and Destiny at the park they are twins who are our friends . We told them we have a new teacher and he was teaching us social studies and he was from Europe. Kevyn said he was a terrorist trying to blow up the school . Jared said he was a killer and said he was killing little girls so that he could scare Destiny and Rya. Destiny and Rya said he was a sweet old man.

We go to FDA (Fredrick Douglass Academy). Our school is really crazy because it is really a lot of fun because we have different activities at our school including, lacrosse, basketball, baseball,tennis, volleyball,and swimming.

My brother's and I play every sport we can play. We all play the same sport we play basketball and lacrosse. The only reason why Tyriq plays lacrosse is because it is like football but you don't get to tackle each other.

HOLES

The book I am reading is called ''Holes". The part that I am reading is when Stanley ran off to find Zero. Stanley drove the whole truck into a hole. He tried to bring the water to Zero just in case he is alive. Stanley finds Zero when he is walking and he sees someone under a boat. They ate something that Zero called sploosh.

If Zero was my best friend like that I would have probaly went out to get him same as stanley did.

Homework

The book I read was holes. Stanley Yelnants is in middle school.Stanley looks like is in high school because he is so tall. Stanley gets teased alot because of his height.He got sent to camp green lake for on the charges of stealing Clyde Livingston's sneakers.

If I seen a pair of sneakers flying in they air I would have just left them alone instead of taking them cause you never now who they belong too.

The book I read was diary of a wimpy kid. Greg has turned into a safety patrol officer in school. He terrorizes the kindergarten with a stick with a worm with it and Rowley takes the blame. Rowley takes the blame because he does not know what is going on. So he is sad because he can't be in safety patrol anymore.

I would be real angry if I really loved that job and said it was not me that day I let Greg borrow my jacket.

I've seen kids being bullied before. A boy had an odor problem and so they bullied him because he really smelled bad. So he got bullied and teased because he stink really bad. Every time he got teased or bullied every day for no reason. So he started to fight back every time somebody said something about him he did not like or he started to say stuff back at them that includes your mother or your father. One day I got mixed up in commosion and said i said something about hit me so I beat him up.

Every time this kid got teased I told them to leave him alone cause im type cool.

I dont think you can ever make kids stop teaching others.

THE SURVIVORS

Coach has a big heart, a positive attitude, and a wicked swing with a chainsaw. After a knee injury ended his career as a defensive lineman in college, Coach salvaged his degree and landed a job teaching health at a local high school in his hometown of Savannah. Working as a defensive director for the underclassmen team might not be the best first step to landing a pro coaching career.

Ellis is a mechanic with a love of life, a firm belief in his own immortality, and the ability to treat any setback as a fun dare to impress his friends. He was born and raised in Savannah, Ellis divvies up his time working at the local garage, hanging out with his buddies and dropping by for Sunday dinner with his mom. The zombies came and spoiled it now Ellis is looking for new things to occupy his time.
Nick a lifetime of drifting from city to city, finding back alley card games and trying to stay out of jail has taught him two valuable lessons: Don't trust anybody, and look out for number one. He'd come down to Savannah looking for some gullible fish on the riverboat gambling cruises. Instead he found a city about to be engulfed by infections.

Rochelle is a low level associate producer for a big name news station, Rochelle's job mostly consisted of lugging cables and fetching coffee. But when the outbreak hit and staff started calling in sick, Rochelle got her break: producing a segment from Savannah about the evacuation center located there She was still setting up the cameras when her big story became a war zone.

THE INFECTED

The Boomer's vomit attack temporarily blinds survivors and attracts horde.

The Charger will grab the first survivor it hits with it's charge attack and carry you with them until they hit a obstacle.

The Hunter can inflict initial damage damage to survivors if they pounce from a long distance.

The Jockey can lunge attack onto the head of an unsuspecting survivor, then steer them away from there teamates, into danger or behind obstruction.

The Smoker works best from an out of sight vantage point . Ensnaring survivors from rooftops.

The Spitter's spit is highly toxic, and incredibly damaging to survivors.

The Tank is mutated through infection, the Tank's only strategy is brute force.

Reading Response

The book I read was Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea Of Monsters. The part I read was when Percy & Annabeth were stuck by the water. Percy went and cut one of the heads of not knowing that if the head was gonna grow back or not then it was six hydra heads. Then Clarisse (daughter of Ares) came in a ship that said CSS Birmingham. So she ordered her dead skeletons to attack the hydra with cannon balls and the hydra was dead after it was hit. Then they got back on got ont he boat and left.

I would have been scared seeing how big the hydra was. They were big but they just spit acid and fire. Also most of them eat you up.

1. I do not believe in extraterrestrial life. I know that extraterrestrial is life is not real if it is real I want to see proof.
2. That they could here aliens talking on the microphone.

EXPOSITORY WRITING LESSON #1

1.Sets apes, chimpanzees, orangutans, monkeys, and humans from other animals are because other animals do not climb trees and eat bananas for nothing. No other animals eat bananas except for 5 animals on the list.

2. I had a dog named Galo. One day I had observed his behavior while watching tv. He was a very good dog. He sat around all day laying on the floor and he tried to get on the couch so I told him to get down and he just stared at me like I was crazy. So I pushed him off the couch because he was'nt suppose to be on the couch and the next day he gobig t back on the couch and I said down and he got down off the couch.

3. Today at camp leakley I played with a orangutan named AJ. He could play board games. He was not so good at Monoply he kept throwing the money in the air and started to catch it. He was good at Trouble he beat once I beat him once. We tried basketball he hit me in the had with the ball and I told him to shout it in the hoop and when he was a pro at that we played 1 0n 1 and then I won 17 to 21. Thhat was my day with my friend the orangutan AJ.

4. I think Birute Gildakas is a women who cares for orangutans. She helps orangutans and trains them so that they know how to live in the forest.

5. I remeber when there was a coyote in Central Park. It was there for like 3 weeks until it was found. I heard that the coyote ate a little dog walking in the park the only reason it was found out was because you could see dog bones and the dogs fur on the ground. That is why people should keep the zoo doors closed in the dangered animals section.

The theme of my book is mystery. I can relate this book to all other Goosebump books because they are all mysterious. I can reccomend this book to alot of people because it is very funny and mysterious. I say that because you have to figure out who did it and how did it happen.

My grandmother had a stroke recently . She's moving in with us because of that life threatining episode. My room is being divided in two! I had the only appropriate bedroom. I resent my lost of space in a way. I suspect Grandma resents losing her freedom even more.

I think alot of people have read this book because it's a goosebumps book and alot of children read goosebumps. They read it because it is a horror book which children can enjoy. They enjoy it because it might frighten you a little bit but it is still a little funny even if it is a horror story.

I would reccomewnd this book to people who enjoy things that are funny and things that are on scary I think that because kids like horror movies, shows, and probaly even books so that is how you know that. People like horror because horror gives fear and what is any thing without fear.

Books I would like to read is Percy Jackson " The Sea Monster" also " The Titans Curse" and "The Last Olympian". These books do not relate to the book I am reading now.

One non-fiction book I have read was Mokee Joe: Doomsday. The book was about when a boy gets chased by a monster named Mokee Joe in three different books about Mokee Joe. Doomsday is finally when the boy fights Mokee Joe.

I read this book because it was a book that 3rd-5th grade had to read in my school. I really enjoyed this book because it was funny and had alot of action and also the people in the story were trustful.

I like non-fiction books better than fiction books because the fact that non-fiction has more action. I also like alot of action.

I would want to read about action non-fiction stories because there better.

The story I read was " The Day the Fifth Grade Disappeared''. One foreshadowing example is when Julia Rose said she was going to when the Grand Prize and then she really did at the end of the story. Another sign of foreshadowing is when Julia Rose, Jeff, and Lori said that they were going to go into that gray building one day to see what was in there even if they get suspended and at the end of the story all three of them where in side of the gray building but Julia was the only one to explore it.

In my story there was no sign of symbolism.

A sign of a similie is when Jeff tries to make jokes. One joke was '' do you know why baseballplayers like to go to the park? the girls said give up then he said they enjoy the swings. Jeff tried another joke when Julia told them that they disappeared when they did not have anymore clues he said '' yeah, we'll plan to make the mystery disappear, while someone out there plans to make us disappear."

A sign of a metaphor is when the three of them were still working on the mystery. "Jeff said come on we'l walk down to the corner and see if her car is parked somewhere".Another is when Julia dissapeared she said " I had been sure that, if I could just disappear once Iwould find some clue but now that it happened I had to admit I did not learn anything.

If my story had a thesis it would have been " I knew I had to get help fast or else there might not be any big or little kids left at Sandhill Elementry School.

HOW BYRON IS GOOD AND BAD PERSON

Byron is a good and bad person. But most things are bad. Byron is a bad person because he picks on people. Also because he skips school with his friend Buphead. Byron does not think about except himself. Byron is a god at his school because he is bad and he picks on kids.

WE SEE GRANDMA SAND'S!!!!!

Today when we came up to Grandma Sands house. It was partly cloudy and 51 degrees. I had to be real good so that I could go back to Flint with mom and dad to stay there so I could see Buphead. When we got there when seen Grandma Sands we all came and gave hugs. Grandma Sands has a new boyfriend and she said they were just friends. Grandma's boyfriend took us to the lake and Grandma Sand's told us before we left to watch out fot the whirlpool.

The book I read was called Drake & Josh. The story is basiclly about how to step-brothers. Who are two tottaly diffrent people. They have a sister named Megan and she is always doing something to them and they finnally catch her to tell there parents that she is an evil little spy. But when then there mom and dad came home they went to Megans room and and nothing was on the wall be hind the picture.

I know why they tried to catch Megan because she is a sneaky little girl. She always gets her way and never gets caught. I this evere happen to me I would be really intense to catch her in the act.

What I think would be good for me in 2010 is my work in class. I am going to do lots of things to improve. I want to improve more in math and science to get better grades. I would also like to stay on the honor roll. I would like to keep up both math and science grades.

I want my grades to increase higher so that I can be at the top of the honor roll. My new years resolution is to get good grades and still have fun. My resolution would have been impossible for me in 4th and 5th grade because I did not believe in myself. But know I am able to believe and understand possible things to me.

I believe I can do it because last year I did not do great because know I have to pay the price sitting in detention when I am supposed to be in the cafeteria with my friends.
