Information on the African Burial Grounds

The African Burial Ground is impotant because diffrent peoples ansetors were there. Slavery was a wrong thing for blacks and was unfair. The reason why the African Burial Ground is important because people tried to hide it from us when it was found in 1991.

Although slavery ended in New York in 1827, slavery had been around a long time in Ney York. In the African Burial Ground there were black slaves. The occupants of the ABG were babies, women, children, and men.

Durirng the 1700 and 1800's the only role for blacks were to be slaves. At the ABG you can learn when and where slaves were buried. The slaves were buried in a place which is now called Wall Street.

In the African Burial Ground there are forty percent of children, which equals 149. There are 9 percent of infants which is probaly 66 or 70.The African Burial Ground is a fun place to go.

Your essay is good, but all of your paragraphs should be at least 3 sentences long. I am also a little confused by the conclusion of your essay — you have lots of great facts, but nothing that makes me think the ABG would be a "fun place to go." Can you explain that better?

You also say in your introduction, which is a very good paragraph, that the ABG is important because "people tried to hide it from us." Does the rest of your essay support this statement?

Mr. Enders

Meaning = 3
Development = 3 (all paragraphs need at least 3 sentences!)
Organization = 4 (confusing conclusion)
Language = 3
